Our Role
According to the National Notary Association: A Notary Public is defined as an official of integrity appointed by state government — typically by the secretary of state — to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents. These official acts are called notarizations, or notarial acts. Notaries are publicly commissioned as “ministerial” officials, meaning that they are expected to follow written rules without the exercise of significant personal discretion, as would otherwise be the case with a “judicial” official.
A notary public’s job is to prevent fraud. A notary signing agent’s job is to help protect the American dream as we are the last line of defense in protecting fraud. It is essential that the identity of each signing party have valid government-issued, non expired photo ID. Signers must be signing willingly and are aware of what is happening. If the signer is incapacitated or on pain medication, please schedule a time when the signer is fully cognizant since signers must be aware of what they are signing, and must be willing to sign.
As official representatives of the state, Notaries Public certity the proper execution of many of the life-changing documents of private citizens. These can be diverse transactions that convey real estate, grant powers of attorney, establish preneuptial agreements, and or perform a multitude of other activities that enable civil society to function.
